An Australian model has revealed that she turned down Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo when he asked her to send him "gym selfies".

The pair began communicating via social media and text messaging service Whatsapp after the Brazilian-born Aline Lima left a comment on one of Ronaldo's Instagram pictures.

The model asked the Portuguese star if he had received a letter from her boyfriend Alex, but Ronaldo was allegedly more interested in meeting her.

According to The Mirror, during Real's pre-season tour in Australia, when Lima told Ronaldo that she had a boyfriend and he would not be "happy" if she sent a gym selfie, the footballer replied: "No-one knows, baby. Quiet."

Reports have claimed that despite knowing that Lima was not single, Ronaldo still tried to meet her by offering tickets to a pre-season match in Melbourne.

When Lima asked if her boyfriend could come along, Ronaldo is alleged to have said that he wanted to meet her alone.
