Jockey Darren Egan is expected to miss the rest of the racing season after breaking his collarbone at Wolverhampton last night.
Egan was aboard Juarla when the horse suffered a fatal fall that may have also dislocated the jockey's shoulder.
Agent Neil Allan said: "I spoke to him last last night and he was very groggy.
"He's choked with what's happened - the horse died as well so it was really sad.
"I don't think we'll see Darren on the turf again this year."
Egan's bid to become 2012 champion apprentice is all but over as he is second behind Amy Ryan.
