Hull FC release Daniel Holdsworth from contract

Hull FC announce that half-back Daniel Holdsworth has been released from his contract due to "personal and family reasons".

Hull FC have announced that half-back Daniel Holdsworth has been released from his contract following his arrival at the start of the season.

The 29-year-old is expected to join up with the Cronulla Sharks in his native Australia after deciding to leave Hull due to "personal and family reasons".

"Daniel has left the club and will be returning to the NRL on personal grounds," manager Motu Tony told the club's official website.

"It hasn't quite worked out for him at Hull FC and a return to an Australian club is probably an environment better suited to him personally."

Holdsworth, who moved to Hull from Salford, had one year remaining on his contract.
