Bath captain Stuart Hooper 'hugely disappointed' by final defeat

Bath captain Stuart Hooper describes his side's defeat to Saracens in the Aviva Premiership final as "hugely disappointing".

Bath captain Stuart Hooper has admitted that he is 'hugely disappointed' by the team's defeat to Saracens in the Aviva Premiership final.

A sluggish first-half display cost Bath at Twickenham on Saturday as Sarries went on to claim a 28-16 victory.

"I guess one of the reasons we play sport is that if you win you get your moment and credit to Saracens, they will be on the podium with the trophy," Hooper is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"It's hugely disappointing but we need to make sure that we realise that it was not a wasted year. We worked hard and got to this point but we didn't really do ourselves justice today. Credit to Saracens for winning as they're a fantastic team and deserve it."

Bath's last appearance in the Premiership final was back in 2004, when they were beaten 10-6 by Wasps.
