Warren Gatland reveals that he would consider taking charge of the British and Irish Lions again in 2017.

Warren Gatland has admitted that he would consider leading the British and Irish Lions on their tour of New Zealand in 2017.

The 49-year-old guided the Lions to their first series victory for 16 years thanks to a 41-16 win over Australia in the third Test on Saturday, but accepts that plenty could change ahead of the next tour in four years.

"There is a lot of water to go under the bridge before 2017," Gatland said.

"You get opportunities in life if you're part of successful environments and teams and winning a couple of Grand Slams with Wales and reaching the semi-final of the World Cup has given me this opportunity.

"I'm grateful for the chance and if it came up again then it's something I might look at."

Gatland is under contract with Wales until 2015.
