Joe Marler: 'England confident of beating New Zealand'

England prop Joe Marler claims that he and his teammates are confident of beating New Zealand in the second Test this weekend.

England prop Joe Marler has claimed that he and his teammates are confident of levelling their series with New Zealand this weekend.

The tourists travel to Dunedin for the second of three Tests on Saturday having narrowly lost last week's opener in Auckland.

Despite seeing their tour get off to a negative start, Marler believes that the England players can take plenty of confidence from their performance against the All Blacks at Eden Park.

"We respect them as a team, know they have several world-class players and know they are world champions, but Saturday helped us even further," he told Sky Sports News.

"Now we can go toe-to-toe with these guys and if we want to win we need to go that extra step.

"We have to win this weekend to take it down to the last Test. We're confident that if we fine tune a few things we can push the All Blacks even closer."

England coach Stuart Lancaster is expected to make a host of changes for Saturday's match, with Owen Farrell and Danny Care among those likely to return.
