Former England coach Sir Clive Woodward 'on France shortlist'

Former England coach Clive Woodward is reportedly a contender to take charge of France following the Rugby World Cup.

Former England coach Sir Clive Woodward has emerged as a possible candidate to take charge of France after the Rugby World Cup.

Current boss Philippe Saint-Andre is expected to leave his role following the tournament in England.

Woodward, who guided England to Rugby World Cup glory in 2003, met with French rugby chiefs last month, according to L'Equipe.

However, Toulouse coach Guy Noves remains the leading contender to be appointed by Les Bleus.

Woodward recently offered his backing to England coach Stuart Lancaster over banning Manu Tuilagi from the Rugby World Cup due to the centre's conviction for assaulting two police officers.
