Davit Kacharava: 'Nothing lost yet for Georgia'

Davit Kacharava insists that Georgia will remain positive in the hope of securing a top-three spot in Pool C, despite their heavy loss against Argentina.

Georgia centre Davit Kacharava has stressed that his side still have plenty to play for at this year's Rugby World Cup.

The Lelos fell to a 54-9 defeat against Argentina on Friday evening to leave their participation in the competition hanging in the balance.

Victory over Tonga in last week's opening game ensures that Georgia still retain strong hopes of progressing through to the knockout stages, although with defending champions New Zealand up next, Kacharava acknowledges that a top-three finish may be a more realistic outlook.

"We have to take something positive from the match," he told reporters. "It's not over yet at the World Cup for us, we will learn and evolve for our final matches.

"Nothing is lost yet, our last match against Namibia is still very important and if we can win that we'll qualify for RWC 2019, and that is really our main objective."

New Zealand top Pool C with nine points from their opening two games, while Argentina's seven-try victory at the Kingsholm Stadium has seen them move one point above Georgia into second place.
