David Humphreys eager to take positives from Northampton Saints draw

Gloucester Rugby coach David Humphreys is eager for his team to take the positives from their dramatic draw with Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership.

Gloucester Rugby coach David Humphreys has urged his players to take the positives from their 33-33 draw with Northampton Saints.

The West Country outfit led the Aviva Premiership champions 23-9 at Kingsholm Stadium on Saturday, but the Saints fought back late on to deny them the win.

Despite seeing his side fail to close out the game and earn what would have been an impressive victory, Humphreys is eager to build on their performance.

"I think it'll not be for a couple of days when we get a chance to sit down and review it that we'll be able to take a huge number of positives from that and from the way we played," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"We're still searching for that 80-minute performance that will allow us to win games against the top teams. With a 23-9 lead, we've got to control the momentum and pace of the game, so maybe that was the time to slow it down. It's really the first time we've been in that position and I've no doubt we'll learn from that as a group."

Gloucester are back in action on March 29 when they make the trip to Sale Sharks in the league.
