Richard Cockerill signs Leicester Tigers extension

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill signs a new five-year deal with the Aviva Premiership champions.

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill has signed a contract extension with the Aviva Premiership champions.

The 42-year-old former Leicester and England hooker, who took charge of the side in 2009, has penned a new five-year deal.

"This club has been a huge part of my life for a long time and has a unique place in club rugby," Cockerill told Leicester's official website. "I am very passionate about the Tigers and in wanting to continue the club's success."

Cockerill has won three Aviva Premiership titles as Leicester coach.
