Dan Carter: 'Millennium Stadium is best place to play'

New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter says that the Millennium Stadium is his favourite place to play rugby.

New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter has said that the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff is his favourite place to play.

The All Blacks will face Georgia in the Rugby World Cup at the stadium on Friday, having eased to wins over Namibia and Argentina in their opening two fixtures of the tournament.

The 33-year-old told reporters: "I'm often asked which is my favourite stadium at which to play. I always say the Millennium. I've got a lot of great memories of playing here.

"It's an amazing place with an awesome atmosphere. I'm sure Friday night will be exactly the same. The people of Cardiff and Wales are like the Kiwis back home. They are so passionate about their rugby.

"Of course, we are not playing Wales this time, so it will be slightly different. But it's still going to be a capacity crowd. Also, as a kicker, it's quite handy having a roof on it too. That takes away the wind and rain which you can have a bit of here in Cardiff. That's an added bonus."

New Zealand have won all six of their games against Wales at the Millennium Stadium, but lost the quarter-final against France during the 2007 World Cup in Cardiff.
