Dean Richards "delighted" by Newcastle Falcons triumph

Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards admits that he is "delighted" following his side's 23-3 victory over London Welsh in the Aviva Premiership.

Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards has admitted that he is "delighted" by his team's win over London Welsh in the Aviva Premiership.

The Falcons followed up last weekend's victory over Exeter Chiefs with a comprehensive 23-3 triumph at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

"I'm delighted for the boys as we delivered," Richards told BBC Sport. "However, we lacked a bit of accuracy at times in the first half and dropped away a bit more in the second half. But our defence was excellent which is good as it's normally the weakest part of our game."

Newcastle return to action on Friday when they host Bucharest Wolves in the European Challenge Cup.
