Mark McCall relieved by Saracens victory

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall admits his relief following his side's 23-17 victory over Connacht in the Heineken Cup.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has expressed his relief after his side opened their Heineken Cup campaign with a 23-17 victory over Connacht.

Three second-half penalties from Owen Farrell were enough to give Sarries the win in Pool 3 on Friday night.

"It's an important four points," McCall is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "It was a tough and physical game so I am just happy to come here and take the points.

"Fair play to Connacht, they kicked just about everything and found space in our back field and put us under real pressure when they got their tries and got a real energy from that."

Saracens are back in Heineken Cup action next Friday when they host Toulouse at Wembley Stadium.
