Springboks coach Peter de Villiers has made five changes to his side ahead of their Tri-Nations clash with New Zealand on Saturday.
Morne Steyn moves back to his preferred fly-half position after starting at fullback for the team’s July defeat to the All Blacks.
Back-row Willem Alberts, hooker Bismarck du Plessis, prop Gurthro Steenkamp and fullback Pat Lambie are also recalled to the starting line-up.
“This is our last chance to look at certain combinations before the Rugby World Cup," de Villiers said. “We've had these changes in mind since we started our planning for the international season, depending on the injury situation.”
