Wales winger George North rested for Scotland clash

Wales winger George North is rested for the team's clash with Scotland in the Six Nations after suffering concussion.

George North has been left out of the Wales team for Sunday's clash with Scotland in the Six Nations.

The winger has been rested by coach Warren Gatland after suffering concussion during last weekend's defeat to England.

Liam Williams replaces North in what is the only change to the Welsh starting XV for their trip to Murrayfield

"North is currently symptom free and whilst nearing the conclusion of the graduated return to play protocol the decision has been taken to allow him an elongated recovery period in light of his recent concussive episode in the autumn period," read a statement on the Welsh Rugby Union's official website.

The WRU have received criticism during the past week following their decision to keep North on the field of play against England despite his head injury.

Wales team to play Scotland:

Leigh Halfpenny (Toulon), Alex Cuthbert (Cardiff Blues), Jonathan Davies (ASM Clermont Auvergne), Jamie Roberts (Racing Metro), Liam Williams (Scarlets), Dan Biggar (Ospreys), Rhys Webb (Ospreys), Gethin Jenkins (Cardiff Blues), Richard Hibbard (Gloucester), Samson Lee* (Scarlets), Jake Ball (Scarlets), Alun Wyn Jones (Ospreys), Dan Lydiate (Ospreys), Sam Warburton (Cardiff Blues), Taulupe Faletau (Newport Gwent Dragons)
