Heidi Diethelm Gerber earns gold for Switzerland in women's 25m pistol final

Switzerland claim gold in the women's 25m pistol final at the European Games, thanks to some adroit work from Heidi Diethelm Gerber at the Baku Shooting Centre.

Switzerland shooter Heidi Diethelm Gerber has earned her country's fourth gold medal of the European Games in Baku after winning the women's 25m pistol final this morning.

Gerber scored a total of eight points across her six series to claim gold, while Bulgaria's Antoaneta Boneva shot a lacklustre four to settle for second place and silver.

In the event's bronze-medal offering, Germany's Monika Karsch came out on top after defeating the Russian Federation's Yuliya Alipova 7-5 at the Baku Shooting Centre.

Russia still lead the way at the top of the medals table, with Switzerland ranked in eighth place.
