Ronnie O'Sullivan: 'I'm not the greatest ever'

Ronnie O'Sullivan claims that he cannot be regarded as the best snooker player ever until he has broken the record for most world titles.

Reigning world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan has claimed that he does not deserve to be declared the greatest snooker player of all time.

'The Rocket' begins his quest for a sixth world title tomorrow against Robin Hull and does not want to put unnecessary pressure on himself.

He also stated that to be considered the best, he would have to at least equal Stephen Hendry's record of seven world titles.

"You would have to equal Hendry's record to be classified as the greatest of all time," O'Sullivan told reporters. "I can't put myself in that league yet.

"I'm not saying it can't happen because you never know but I don't want to put unrealistic targets on myself, or unnecessary pressure. I want to be happy with what I've achieved while striving to win another.

"I'm happy to have won it five times over a 13-year period. To be the greatest, I think anyone would have to win seven."

Steve Davis recently backed O'Sullivan to continuing winning world titles into his forties.
