England's Nick Matthew has insisted that he and squash doubles partner Adrian Grant will not allow their favourites tag to hinder them as they head into the elimination stages.
The duo secured their passage to the knockouts by beating Papua New Guinea in just 12 minutes to win 11-6 11-7 and seal top spot in Group A.
"That was good fun but it is the calm before the storm because we know now the singles ranking really goes out the window and medals are at stake," Matthews, who is ranked number two in the world, told reporters.
"We are going to treat it as if we have no ranking just like the pair we played were doing."
The pair face Jamaica in the last-16 later today.
