Emma McKeon snatches gold in 200m freestyle

Australia's Emma McKeon snatches gold in a photo finish with England's Siobhan-Marie O'Connor in the women's 200m freestyle.

Australia's Emma McKeon has taken gold in the women's 200m freestyle at the Commonwealth Games.

McKeon had to hold off a late challenge from Team England's Siobhan-Marie O'Connor, who finished just a quarter of a second behind.

"This is the first time O'Connor has ever done the 200m freestyle and she put up a great fight," four-time Olympic medallist Rebecca Adlington told BBC Sport.

"McKeon just had that much more experience."

McKeon's victory made up for her brother David McKeon's final length collapse in the men's 400m freestyle earlier in the evening.
