Oliver Hynd "happy" with winning time in 200m individual medley SM8

Oliver Hynd tells Sports Mole that he felt comfortable enough to drop his time before swimming to victory in the 200m individual medley SM8.

Team England's Oliver Hynd has expressed his delight after winning the 200m individual medley SM8 in 2:22.86.

The 19-year-old, who entered the race as favourite, earned his Commonwealth crown after winning Paralympic silver and bronze in London 2012, and double gold and bronze in the World Championships a year later.

"I was really happy with it," Hynd told Sports Mole. "I was able to drop a lot of time from this morning, which is what I came here wanting to do. I was pretty much around my best time, so to be in that race situation, I'm really happy with that."

Glasgow's 22 Para-sport medal events is the most in Commonwealth Games history.
