Michael Jamieson has said that he is looking forward to competing in front of his home crowd at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Scottish swimmer, who won a silver medal for Great Britain at the Olympics in London two years ago, will get his campaign underway in the 200m breaststroke heats this afternoon.
The 25-year-old told BBC Sport: "I've seen at first hand the level of noise a home-crowd advantage can give you.
"I've woken up for training every morning with the world-record time on my alarm clock. It's the first thing I see when I wake up and that's what I'm aiming for.
"The nerves are starting to build now, so I'm just trying to stay as chilled as possible. This is the biggest race of my life but I train 35 hours a week to be involved in events like this. The hard graft is already done. Competition should be the easy bit."
The final of the 200m will take place this evening.
