British swimmer Siobhan-Marie O'Connor has claimed that next year's European Championships in London will be "great preparation" for the Olympic Games in Rio.
The 19-year-old is finding good form ahead of the Games, having won gold in the 4x100m mixed relay and bronze in the 200m medley at the World Championships in Kazan last month.
Last year, the Brit earned six medals at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and O'Connor believes that the GB team will benefit from the home crowd in London, in what will be the final major aquatics competition before the Rio Games.
"I love racing at the big events and can't wait for the European Championships next year," O'Connor told Sportsbeat.
"Now that the worlds have passed and the schedule for the European Championships is out, the road to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is starting to take shape. To be able to swim in front of a home crowd in London, just a few months before the Games, will be great preparation."
O'Connor missed last year's Europeans in Berlin.
