Michael Phelps has revealed that he has a number of retirement plans after winning his 18th gold medal in his final race at London 2012.
The 27-year-old ended his career on a high with victory in the men's 4x100m medley relay on Saturday night.
Phelps told BBC Sport: "I want to travel a bunch, that's something I've always wanted to do.
"I've been able to see so many places in the world but I've never been able to experience them. I've seen pools and hotels pretty much ever since I've been on the national team. I'd like to experience some things, whether it's travelling through Europe or going back to Australia and being able to go around.
"I want to go shark cage diving in South Africa, that's something Chad le Clos and I were talking about."
The Baltimore Bullet ended London 2012 with four golds and two silvers to finish his Olympic career with 22 medals, the most collected by one athlete in the history of the Olympic Games.
