Australian Open officials have attempted to play down concerns over players' safety due to the scorching temperatures in Melbourne.
A number of competitors, including Andy Murray, have spoken out about the heat surrounding the courts, but no serious incidents occurred during the day.
However, Canada's Frank Dancevic required medical attention after he fainted during his match on Tuesday.
According to BBC Sport, chief medical officer Dr Tim Wood said: "The majority of matches on Tuesday were completed without any court calls from the medical team.
"Of course there were a few players who experienced heat related illness or discomfort, but none required significant medical intervention after they had completed their match."
Referee Wayne McKewen is said to have also claimed that the conditions were not strong enough to enforce the "extreme heat policy".
