Roberto Bautista Agut stuns Tomas Berdych in California

Robert Bautista Agut pulls off a major shock at the Indian Wells Masters with a 4-6 6-2 6-4 victory over fourth seed Tomas Berdych.

Roberto Bautista Agut has claimed a major scalp in the Indian Wells Masters by coming from behind to beat Tomas Berdych 4-6 6-2 6-4 in the second round.

The world number 53 made a perfect start to the match when he broke Berdych to love in the very first game, while he also gave him a scare in the third game before the Czech fought back to win.

The tables turned as the set went on, however, and Berdych began to trouble Agut on his own serve, breaking him in the eight and 10th games to clinch the opener 6-4.

The number four seed made a strong start to the second set, taking the first game to love, but Agut soon set about causing problems once again, winning his next two games against the serve.

The Spaniard had a chance to seal the set 6-1 before Berdych recovered to make it 5-2, but it was only a temporary reprieve for the Czech as Agut held on his next service game to level things up.

Agut then broke again in the opening game of the deciding set to take control of the match and put himself on course for an upset.

Berdych looked to have got himself back into it when he broke back in the eighth game, but Agut responded immediately to take a 5-4 lead before serving out the match to book himself a place in the third round.
