Dominika Cibulkova dominates to knock out Petra Kvitova

Dominika Cibulkova produces a dominant performance to beat Petra Kvitova 6-3 6-2 in the fourth round at the BNP Paribas Open.

Dominika Cibulkova produced a dominant display to beat Petra Kvitova 6-3 6-2 in the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.

The 12th seed was confident on her first serve throughout the opening set and Kvitova was unable to cause any problems for her opponent as she looked to make an impact early on.

Cibulkova only needed to break the Kvitova serve once in the first set before comfortably holding out to take the lead.

Kvitova's form improved in the second set and the eighth seed looked close to her best as she started to pressure Cibulkova.

However, Cibulkova displayed impressive defensive play to survive five break points in the set before taking one of her own chances on the way to completing a straight-sets victory.
