Ernests Gulbis edges out Grigor Dimitrov at Indian Wells

Ernests Gulbis needs just under two hours to see off Grigor Dimitrov in their third-round match.

Ernests Gulbis has beaten Grigor Dimitrov in the third round of the Indian Wells Masters.

The Latvian needed just under two hours to dispatch of 15th seed Dimitrov, battling from one set down to win 2-6 6-1 7-5.

Dimitrov broke Gulbis twice in the first set to secure an early advantage. However, he was unable to sustain his form and Gulbis raced to a 4-1 lead in the second.

He soon levelled the match, but his Bulgarian opponent fought hard in the third set, before Gublis finally broke his resistance.

With a break of serve putting him 6-5 ahead, Gublis then wrapped up the win on his first match point.
