Jelena Jankovic survives Sabine Lisicki scare to advance at Indian Wells

Jelena Jankovic battles from a set behind to claim a 3-6 6-3 6-1 victory over Sabine Lisicki at Indian Wells.

Jelena Jankovic has overcome Sabine Lisicki in three sets this morning to advance through to the final of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.

The world number 21, who had to battle through a real thriller against Flavia Pennetta to reach the final four, came out on top 3-6 6-3 6-1 to set up a showdown with Simona Halep.

Both players lost serve in the opening two games of the contest, although it was Lisicki who held better for the remainder to take a valuable lead.

Jankovic levelled up by claiming an error-strewn second set, but only after surviving a scare having twice lost her serve early on to see her opponent race ahead.

The Serbian did well to push Lisicki all the way, and there was only ever going to be one winner in a somewhat one-sided decider as Jankovic rallied to break her opponent three times on her way to taking the match.
