Rafael Nadal satisfied with Shanghai Masters progress

Rafael Nadal reveals that he was pleased with his performance in Wednesday's win over Alexandr Dolgopolov at the Shanghai Masters.

Rafael Nadal has said that he is happy with his performance during Wednesday's win over Alexandr Dolgopolov in the second round of the Shanghai Masters.

The newly-crowned world number one saw off the Ukrainian 6-3 6-2 with an hour on the clock.

The Spaniard was playing his first match since Sunday's straight-sets defeat to Novak Djokovic in the final of the China Open.

"I think I played a good match," Nadal told the ATP's official website. "To win against Dolgopolov the way I did is because I did a lot of things well.

"The serve worked great. Something that didn't happen last week. That's a very important thing."

Nadal will now face Argentine Carlos Berlocq for a place in the quarter-finals.
