Bernard Tomic relishing match with "legend" Lleyton Hewitt

Australia's Bernard Tomic expects his first meeting with compatriot Lleyton Hewitt to be "fun" when they face each other at the US Open.

Australia's Bernard Tomic has said that he is looking forward to facing "legend" Lleyton Hewitt in the second round at the US Open.

The 22-year-old will face his compatriot, who intends to retire after next year's Australian Open, for the first time, having beaten Damir Dzumhur in four sets in the opening round.

"I look up to him a lot. He is a legend to me, to a lot of people around the world and it is a shame that maybe, in the next month or so, he might stop," Fox Sports Australia quotes the 24th seed as saying.

"But is is an opportunity. I have never played him and it could be fun. We have played so many time sin practice and it is fun always to play Lleyton.

"It is an opportunity for me to make my first third round in the US Open. He has nothing to lose. He is going to be going for is so, for me, it is going to be more tough."

Tomic has lost in the second round at Flushing Meadows for the last four years, while Hewitt won the tournament in 2001.
