Roberto Bautista Agut advances to fourth round

Roberto Bautista Agut secures a straight-sets victory over Adrian Mannarino to set up a clash with Roger Federer in the fourth round of the US Open.

Number 17 seed Roberto Bautista Agut cruised into the last 16 of the US Open with a straight-sets win over Adrian Mannarino.

The first set was a tight affair, with both players unable to hold their serve as each were broken twice in the early stages, but the Spaniard managed to earn another break and hold on to record a 7-5 victory.

The 26-year-old controlled the second set with an excellent array of shots to pull the Frenchman around the court and also attacked his serve with venom, earning two breaks to secure a 6-2 win.

Bautista Agut dominated the third set to clinch his victory as he put in an efficient performance to take the set 6-3. He will now face number two seed Roger Federer in the fourth round of the tournament.
