Australian number one Bernard Tomic has criticised the ban placed on his father that prevents him from attending Wimbledon.
John Tomic, who is also his son's coach, faces a court date later this year over his alleged attack on his child's former hitting partner Thomas Drouet on May 4.
The clash outside the Madrid Masters players' hotel left Drouet with a broken nose.
Tomic Snr, who claims he was acting in self-defence, has since been banned from tournaments in a coaching capacity by the ATP, while he has been forbidden to enter SW19 altogether, which annoys Bernard.
"It's sad. It's a shame because to have this huge tournament here and you're competing, all of a sudden not to have someone there who's been there for your whole life is very difficult. It's not a good feeling," said Bernard Tomic.
"It's tough. But hopefully it will work out.
"I'll try to have a word with them. I know they're very strict here. We'll see what they say. It would be amazing to have my dad here watching me."
Tomic defeated Sam Querrey 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 2-6 6-3 to advance to the second round on Tuesday.
