Russia lead in figure skating

Russia lead Canada and China in the inaugural figure skating team event in Sochi, with Great Britain finishing 10th after Thursday's round.

Russia have taken the lead in the inaugural figure skating team event at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The hosts finished Thursday's round in Sochi with 19 points after the men's and pairs' short programs, with Canada and China in second and third with 17 and 15 points respectively.

Great Britain are 10th after Stacey Kemp and David King had a fall during their performance, while the USA's Jeremy Abbott could only pick up four points for his country.

The competition continues on Saturday, with ladies and ice dancing short programs, as well as the pairs' free skate.
