Chemmy Alcott: Lady Gaga song "makes me feel invincible"

Great Britain downhill skier Chemmy Alcott admits that she likes to listen to Lady Gaga to get her in the mood for competition.

Great Britain downhill skier Chemmy Alcott has revealed that she likes to listen to Lady Gaga before she competes.

The 31-year-old will take part in her second event of the Winter Olympics when she participates in the women's downhill later today, after finishing 16th in the super combined downhill on Monday.

Alcott told the Daily Star: "When I was on the Dancing on Ice Tour round the country, the pros there skated to Lady Gaga's 'The Edge of Glory'.

"I loved the song so much that, since coming back from my injury, I have started to listen to it at the start gate before going out. While it's on, I can use the time to visualise the course about three times. It just makes me feel invincible.

"Last month, I had four races in about four days and I listened to it quite a lot. So, if you see me humming on TV – although admittedly I have the worst voice ever – you will at least know what I am singing."

Team GB have won just one bronze medal so far in the Games.
