Team GB's Claire Hamilton hails "strong team performance"

Team GB's Claire Hamilton says that winning a bronze medal in the women's curling event "was a fine way to round off a mixed few days".

Great Britain women's curling member Claire Hamilton has said that winning a bronze medal against Switzerland "was a fine way to round off a mixed few days".

Team GB bounced back from a disappointing 6-4 defeat against Canada yesterday by beating Switzerland earlier today.

After falling 2-0 behind early on, Eve Muirhead and her team went on to win 6-5 to claim bronze.

"It feels absolutely fantastic," 25-year-old Hamilton told BBC Sport. "To put on a strong team performance like that and to come home with an Olympic medal is absolutely what we have always wanted.

"The last 24 hours has been a complete mix of emotions coming off the Canada game and managing to come back and come out stronger was great."

The victory means that Britain have become the youngest team ever to win an Olympic curling medal.
