Jackie Lockhart tips Eve Muirhead to "play offensive game"

Olympic gold medal winner Jackie Lockhart says that Eve Muirhead will be keen to battle Russia from the very off when Team GB's curlers return to action on Monday.

Olympic Games curling gold medallist Jackie Lockhart has stated that she expects Team GB to attack Russia from their off during their crucial clash at Sochi 2014 on Monday.

Lockhart - who was part of the successful Great Britain team in Salt Lake City in 2002 - was speaking after results elsewhere confirmed that Eve Muirhead's team could book a place in the semi-finals with wins over Russia and then Denmark the following day.

"Eve likes to play the offensive game," Lockhart told BBC Sport. "She has decided she is ready and will go firing from the first end.

"Russia were very tentative this morning - but if Eve has the hammer she will go right at it from the word go."

An 8-6 defeat to Switzerland on Saturday has left Great Britain's curlers in joint-third in the standings with a 4-3 record.
