Two Team GB athletes have spoken of their feelings as they paraded at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Sochi, describing how "pumped" and "proud" they were.
Jack Whelbourne and Kristan Bromley were part of the 62-strong Great Britain delegation that marched inside the Fisht Olympic Stadium in the Black Sea resort today.
"I was pumped marching in," Whelbourne, a short track speed skater, told reporters. "The stadium is amazing. It was a great feeling. It was also special to line up behind Jon (Eley) and have a short-tracker carrying the flag."
Meanwhile Bromley, who competes in the skeleton, was equally excited. "There's a lot of energy in the stadium and this is a great start to the Games. We had a really warm welcome. It's a proud moment to walk into the stadium behind your flag. It brings it all home."
Earlier on in the opening ceremony, a malfunction occurred when one of the Olympic rings failed to open.
