Team GB Sochi Olympic chef de mission Mike Hay has praised British snowboarders Jamie Nicholls and Billy Morgan ahead of this morning's snowboard slopestyle final.
Nicholls sealed qualification for the final on Thursday, his fourth-place finish ensuring that he bypassed the semi finals, while Morgan finished first in the semis with a score of 90.75 earlier this morning.
"It is extraordinary traditionally we don't start that well at an Olympics but with the addition of slopestyle we've made a great beginning," Hay told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"Hopefully we can have a go at the podium as well."
The first ever Olympic snowboard slopestyle final is currently taking place at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.
