Great Britain's Lizzy Yarnold has spoken of how her Olympic gold medal win in the skeleton at the Sochi Games is a 'dream come true'.
The 25-year-old, who finished nearly a second ahead of her nearest competitor, Noelle Pikus-Pace of the United States, also praised her mother, father and her Team GB colleague Amy Williams, who won the same event four years ago in Vancouver.
"My dream has come true," Yarnold told BBC Sport. "I have a very proud mum and dad and I couldn't have done it without them. I'm the one on the starting block but there is so many people that I couldn't have done it without.
"I met [Williams] five years ago, she was the kind of athlete who never gave up. I realised if I wanted to be an Olympic champion I had to strive to be as good as she has been and never give up.
"There are so many sacrifices you have to make as an athlete. I will be back in the gym next week. I'm an athlete, a dedicated athlete - that's what I do. I would love to go to Korea in four years' time."
The 2018 Winter Olympics will take place in Pyeongchang.
