United States snowboarder Shaun White has admitted that he was disappointed to miss out on a third consecutive gold medal in the Winter Olympics.
The 27-year-old was looking for a third success in as many Games in the half-pipe, but finished fourth in the event after notching a score of 90.25 while also crashing out in his first run.
White told BBC Sport: "It's tough, I really wanted to win tonight but it wasn't my night and I just couldn't land what I needed. I'm going to go and see my family and try to do whatever people do in this situation.
"There was a bit of expectation and pressure but I do that to myself anyway. I just need to go away and think about what happened."
Switzerland's Iouri Podladtchikov won the gold medal, while Japan's Ayumu Hirano and Taku Hiraoka won the silver and bronze respectively in the half-pipe event.
