Organisers of the Winter Olympics in Sochi have played down concerns regarding the high temperatures.
There were worries in the build-up to the Games that certain events may be affected by the heat, but organisers say that contingency plans are still in place.
The men's super combined downhill event has been brought forward by an hour on Friday morning to ensure that conditions are perfect for competitors, while training for the biathlon has also been brought forward by two hours.
"We have a strong contingency plan in place but we have not used the stored snow since the beginning of the Games," Alexandra Kosterina is quoted as saying by AFP. "For the time being - and it is always a constant battle with winter sports - we are relaxed but watch the situation.
"There is plenty of snow already in place, it snowed a lot over the New Year and it is packed in hard. So I don't think that will be an issue."
Organisers admitted earlier this week that "conditions have been difficult".
