NBC Entertainment chief Paul Telegdy leaves after multiple complaints

Paul Telegdy steps down from his role as chairman of NBC Entertainment following multiple allegations that he created a "toxic workplace" at the broadcaster.

Paul Telegdy has stepped down as head of NBC Entertainment following allegations that he had created a "toxic workplace" at the broadcaster.

The accusations that the former BBC Worldwide executive faced include mocking gay executive producers, using crude sexual language and making misogynistic, homophobic and body-shaming remarks.

Former America's Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne has also claimed that Telegdy told her "go f**k yourself" after her son Jack was dropped from an NBC show following his multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

In recent weeks, despite the charges against him, Telegdy is said to have been overseeing an investigation into The Ellen DeGeneres Show after multiple complaints about behind-the-scenes behaviour by its executive producers.

Telegdy's exit from NBC comes as part of a "restructure" that will not see his role replaced directly but split into a role focusing on content strategy and another on programming.

For his part, Telegdy has denied all claims levelled against him.
