Maureen Lipman has reportedly signed a new contract keeping her on Coronation Street until the end of 2021.
The veteran actress joined the ITV soap in 2018 as Evelyn Plummer, the acid-tongued long-lost grandmother of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), and has become a firm fan favourite.
The 74-year-old has previously spoken of her enjoyment working on the soap - due to celebrate its 60th anniversary next month - and according to The Sun, she has now put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension.
"Corrie bosses are thrilled they've managed to secure Maureen for another year," a source told the newspaper.
"Very few people can match her for comic timing and she has achieved 'fan favourite' status in no time at all.
"She is certain to be at the centre of plenty more drama on the cobbles until winter 2021 - at least."
