Paddy Bever leaves his role as Max Turner on Coronation Street and has already filmed his final scenes.

Paddy Bever has quit his role as Max Turner on Coronation Street after three-and-a-half years.

The 22-year-old, who has played the adoptive son of David (Jack P Shepherd) since September 2021, becomes the latest star to leave the soap as tight budget constraints have left many cast members either jumping or waiting to be pushed.

According to The Mirror, Bever's decision to leave was made almost a year ago and he has now filmed his final scenes, which will play out on screen in the coming weeks.

"After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities," the actor told the newspaper. "I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.

"It's been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories."

A source said: "He finished filming at the end of 2024 and will exit as part of a huge upcoming storyline for the Platt family. Everyone at Corrie loves Paddy and we wish him every success for the future.

"This is not a surprise or a shock and is all part of the ebb and flow of characters from the show. We have many new characters joining in the coming weeks and months - and also some returning characters."

The nature of Max's exit is currently unknown, although executive producer Kate Brooks recently revealed that the Platt house will be going up in flames this spring as part of the storyline involving David and dangerous criminal Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

Others stars leaving Corrie in the coming months include Colson Smith (Craig), Sue Cleaver (Eileen), Charlotte Jordan (Daisy) and Shelley King (Yasmeen), while Sue Devaney is expected to depart as Debbie Webster at the conclusion of a long-running health storyline in early 2026.
