Piers Morgan brands Miriam Margolyes "disgusting" for wanting Boris Johnson dead

Piers Morgan slams Miriam Margolyes for "disgusting" remarks where she admitted wanting Prime Minister Boris Johnson to die.

Piers Morgan has hit out at veteran actress Miriam Margolyes for her controversial remarks about Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The PM spent several days in intensive care last month with coronavirus and has since admitted that plans were being drawn up to announce his death if he had taken another turn for the worse.

Appearing on Channel 4's The Last Leg, 78-year-old Margolyes shocked audiences by admitting: "I had difficulty not wanting Boris Johnson to die. I wanted him to die."

Reacting to her comments on Twitter, Good Morning Britain host Morgan declared: "Disgusting. This is where toxic tribalism has got us.. actively wanting people of a different political persuasion to die. Shame on you Ms Margoyles."

Coronavirus has now killed more than 281,000 people worldwide, including almost 32,000 in the UK alone.
