Piers Morgan rekindles friendship with Donald Trump?

Piers Morgan suggests that he has made up with old friend Donald Trump as US polling day nears.

Piers Morgan has suggested that he may have patched things up with President Donald Trump during a lengthy phone call today.

The Good Morning Britain host had been friends with Trump for years after working together on The Apprentice in the US, and Morgan became Trump's UK interviewer of choice upon his ascendancy to the White House.

Morgan has been highly critical of Trump this year, however, slating his handling of the coronavirus as "dangerous", "reckless" and "batshit", prompting the President to unfollow him on Twitter.

The former CNN host appeared on Trump's favourite programme - FOX News Channel's Fox & Friends - on Friday morning and used the opportunity to invite the commander-in-chief to re-follow him in order to get advice on how to win the upcoming election.

The move appeared to work, with Morgan tweeting on Saturday afternoon: "Just had a 25-minute chat on the phone with President @realDonaldTrump from the White House.

"His last words? 'Piers, I'm going to win.'"

With 10 days remaining until polling day, Trump's rival Joe Biden remains the clear favourite to win the election.
