Curtis Pritchard happy to be "fat-shamed" on Love Island

Former Love Island star Curtis Pritchard thanks the trolls who "fat-shamed" him during his time on the show last summer.

Curtis Pritchard has thanked trolls for fat-shaming him during his stint on Love Island as it inspired him to get into shape.

The 24-year-old dancer appeared on last summer's edition of the ITV2 dating series and noticeably gained weight during his eight weeks in the villa, prompting cruel jibes from internet trolls.

Pritchard has since revealed that he gained around two stone while on the show but has now lost his excess weight by becoming a Weight Watchers ambassador.

"I've always been focused on my diet and body, I haven't always been focused on it in the correct way, that was the problem," he told Metro.

"Obviously with my dancing, I've always wanted to have this look and feel about myself and I didn't have it. And then going into Love Island, putting on a lot of weight and coming out again and being fat-shamed, it was really the perfect time to become an ambassador for WW and join the family.

"On a truthful note it isn't nice to say something nasty about someone. It isn't nice to do and be on the receiving end. But you know what, look at me now.

"I'm so positive and confident in how I look and feel now, I thank them for what they did because they really made you focus... so I can only say thank you to them because it changed the way I am.

"But obviously it's not nice when that stuff happens and I would never wish that on anyone. I was very lucky to have such a good support network around me – my family, my brother, my agent."

Curtis is now working on forging a TV career as part of a presenting duo with his older brother AJ Pritchard.
