Get to know MasterChef 2024 contestant Ecrin, including their age, profession and hopes for the competition.

Age: 31

From: London via The Netherlands

Occupation: Customer Success Manager for a Cyber Security Company

Cooking Style: "I do a lot of home cooking, and occasionally I do like to make and try fancier meals at home to surprise my husband. Overall, I really enjoy cooking Turkish food and like to try different cuisines from around the world. I also really enjoy making fusion dishes and combining different cuisines into one meal."

Why MasterChef?: "I never thought that I would apply and actually get on MasterChef. I know that I can cook delicious food and I am extremely passionate about it, but I wanted to push myself further and challenge myself to make MasterChef-worthy food. Getting to cook for John and Gregg just sounded like a dream to me and it is a huge learning experience."

Ambition: "I've dreamt of writing my own cookbook for years. I would also like to make cooking videos and organise supper clubs where I can cook for small groups and share my dishes."

MasterChef continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
