Timothee Chalamet references iconic peach scene in US election post

Timothee Chalamet channels a key scene from Call Me By Your Name to express his thoughts on the limbo of the US Presidential race.

Timothee Chalamet has shared a cheeky reference to his infamous peach scene from Call Me By Your Name in an Instagram post about the US election.

Three days after polling day, the contest between incumbent Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden has yet to be resolved as an unprecedented number of postal votes - cast in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic - are still being counted by swing states.

The tendency for Democrats to vote by post has seen the pendulum swing firmly in Biden's favour in several key states over the last 24 hours - and in a post on his Stories, Chalamet shared a picture of him with a peach alongside the caption "If Georgia turns blue..."

Chalamet added the water drops emoji, an innuendo referencing what his character Elio ends up doing to the peach in the movie.

The young actor has previously made his feelings on the election clear, advising his followers: "Vote that fucker out."
