Gino D'Acampo to host revived Family Fortunes?

Gino D'Acampo is said to be in talks to host a revived version of Family Fortunes on ITV.

Celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo is reportedly in talks to host a revived version of classic gameshow Family Fortunes.

The show was a mainstay of the ITV schedules in the '80s and '90s and was hosted by Les Dennis for much of that time.

Last month it emerged that ITV was considering bringing back the format for a burst of "feel-good TV" during the coronavirus pandemic, with competing families taking part from their homes.

According to The Sun, the network has now given the green light for the show to return and is on the verge of signing D'Acampo up as the new presenter.

"Family Fortunes is one of TV's most-loved formats and ITV have been looking at when it might be right to bring it back," a source told the newspaper. "After a successful pilot earlier this year, they're putting it back on primetime where it belongs.

"Gino is all but signed and they think he will bring his own unique brand of enthusiasm and charisma to the show."

ITV has revived five classic gameshows for one-off episodes in the new series Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow, which airs on Saturday nights.
